Brian

It was over 30 years ago when the Freers moved to Sowbury Park, and our sons became friends that we got to know the family.

Our acquaintance deepened as active members of the garden club when Brian and I were members of the committee. For many years Brian designed the posters advertising club events.

It was Brian who suggested to me on retirement that I may like to join him working for Gowrings Mobility. He liked to refer to us as ‘semi-professional drivers’ and we enjoyed working together for several years.

Two notable events come to mind in our many happy memories of Brian, his seventieth birthday party ‘school lunch’ at the village hall with Brian as headmaster and the wedding anniversary lunch in 2020.

In the Covid era when large family parties were not possible, we marked Susan and Bob’s diamond and both of ours and Brian and Janet’s golden anniversaries with lunch in accordance with the rule of six!
